Oy Beweship Ab and its subsidiaries (collectively ‘BEWE’) take the privacy of its customers very seriously. In Terms and Conditions of Use we tell what kind of personal information we collect of our customers, how we use this information and who we share it with. Our Terms and Conditions of Use also explain what steps we have taken to protect the personal information of our customers. In addition, we tell how our customers can

- prohibit us from sending certain kinds of communications material

Collection of personal information
We collect our customers’ personal information (eg. name, contact information, payment information) in different situations, eg. when customers are using the BEWE- website, when information is required in order to dispatch, pick up or deliver consignments, and at events in which we take part as well as campaigns and other offers.
The personal information we collect include:
- The contact details of persons and companies (such as name, company name, address, email and telephone and/or fax numbers)
- Consignment information such as contact details concerning the consignment: names of consignor and consignee, address, email and telephone number, signature of receipt. In addition, details concerning the content of consignment.
- Information needed to confirm customer’s identity
- Names, email addresses and telephone numbers of those people to whom we are asked to send information
- Username and password for use of BEWE- services online
- Payment details such as payment card or online banking details and invoicing address, bank details (bank account number)
- VAT number when the products or services require it for example when giving an estimate request
- Other personal information we have received for specific BEWE-service
When we pick up or deliver a shipment or provide other services, we may obtain physical location data. This includes, for example, details of the physical address using information such as GPS data, geocodes, latitude and longitude information, and images of the various locations.
Cookies and web beacons
In addition, when you visit our websites, we may collect certain information by automated means, such as cookies and web beacons. The information we collect in this manner includes IP address, browser characteristics, device characteristics, operating system, and language preferences, referring URLs, information on actions taken on our site, and dates and times of website visits. A “cookie” is a text file that websites send to a visitor’s computer or other Internet-connected device. This can be used to uniquely identify the visitor’s browser or to store information or settings in the browser. A “web beacon” also known as an Internet tag, pixel tag or clear GIF, links web pages to web servers and their cookies. We use the information we have collected for following purposes:
- pick up, delivery and follow-up of consignments
- offering of requested products and services (such as logistics, management of supply chain, customs clearances and forwarding/brokerage services)
- payment processing and collection
- customer service: answering of customer requests, questions and comments
- the creation and management of customer’s BEWE-account (including the online account at www.beweship.com and its functions)
- offering of the services that might interest the customer
- communication of events, requests, campaigns and other offers and management of the attendance
- communication with BEWE in social media
- dispatch of information to contact person on customer’s request
- processing of reclamations concerning consignments
- Operation, evaluation and development of our business (including development of our services; management of communications; the evaluation of effectiveness of sales, marketing and advertising; analyzing and optimization of services; websites; as well as accounting, auditing, invoicing, compensation and debt collection functions)
- Analyzing of information (incl. market and consumer researches, trend analysis, financial analyses and anonymization of personal information)
- Protection against fraud and other criminal activities, detection and prevention of criminal activities
- Compliance with applicable laws and our principles
The website analytics (so-called clickstream-data) help to assess the time customers spent on different parts of the website, navigation routes and possibilities to edit the website so that it meets the needs of customer even better than before. Collected information can also be used in other ways which is separately specified at the time of information collection.
The actions that website users take can be collected in order to better customize services according to customers’ personal interests. This part of the terms and conditions will explain the customers’ selection possibilities. Customers can see certain adverts on other websites because we partake in the advertising network. With the help of these advertising networks, marketing communications can be directed at users based on demographic, interest-based and contextual means. These networks follow customers’ web-behaviour by collecting information with automatized means such as cookies, server logs and web beacons. The networks use this information to show customers adverts based on their personal interests. The information collected may include information of visits to specific websites partaking in the advertising networks, for example adverts and websites visited by the customer as well as actions taken by the customer on said websites. This information collection happens on our website and third-party websites partaking in the advertising networks. This process helps us to better evaluate the efficiency of our marketing. Customers’ personal information is not sold, disseminated or distributed in any other way than is mentioned in the Privacy Notice. For pick up and delivery purposes, consignment details are shared with third parties, such as consignor and consignee as well as payers and receivers from outside the company. The information may be shared with subsidiaries, licence holders, retailers and marketing partners. These parties, which are collectively referred to as ‘BEWE business partners’, can use this information to purposes that are stated in this Privacy Notice. Personal information can also be shared with third parties who carry out services in stead of us according to our specific instructions. These third parties do not have the right to use or share the information other than is necessary to carry out assignments or follow the required laws. Many of our customers have outsourced their whole supply chain or their parts to us. These supply chains are administered via forwarding and logistics units which concentrate on the optimization, cargo forwarding, international sales and forwarding services of supply chain to our customers around the world (including a diverse selection of various transport solutions such as air, sea and road freight).
We might also publish personal information concerning customer if law, regulations or legal actions (such as court decree or summons) require us to do so by order of authorities, if publishing of the information is believed to be necessary or required in order to avoid physical damages or financial operating losses or the information is needed to investigate suspected or actual criminal/illegal actions. We reserve the right to transfer information concerning customers in case the business, parts of the business or its assets (including reorganization, decentralization or bankruptcy/liquidation) are sold or transferred to someone else.
Customers can influence on how they are contacted and what information is collected of them. You can choose not to receive marketing messages by clicking the ‘cancel’ link that is included in the marketing messages, by choosing the ‘cancel email subscription’ –link below or by prohibiting direct marketing by contacting us as advised in the ‘Contact details’ part of the terms. You can cancel an earlier consent to share your information in accordance to requirements of ‘Shared information’-part and legislation, or for valid reasons object to the use of your personal information anytime without separate payment.
Information check and correction
According to prevailing laws, customer can get a copy of some of the personal information we store or update or correct information. The customer has a right to see their personal information we have stored by contacting us as stated in ‘Contact details’ – part of the Privacy Notice. In order to protect our customers’ privacy and ensure safety, the identity of a customer is checked before granting access to information. Should the customer believe their personal information to be incorrect, they have a right, within the prevailing laws, to request correction or amendment of information by contacting us as per instructions below.
Links to other websites
Our website can contain links to other websites to better serve our customers. These websites can be under the supervision of other companies than BEWE subsidiaries. The websites can also have their own Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notices. We recommend you familiarize yourself with the terms when visiting the websites. We are not responsible for the content of the websites, their use or terms and conditions which are not supervised by BEWE subsidiaries.
The information collected of our customers can be transferred to other countries than from where it was originally collected from. These countries do not necessarily have similar Privacy Notice than the countries where the information has originally been collected from. When we transfer customers’ information to other countries, we protect this information according to prevailing laws and information given in the Privacy Notice.
Protection of personal information
We use administrative, technical and physical safety precautions which have been designed to protect our customers’ personal information against accidental, illegal or unauthorized destruction, disposal, changing, handling, distribution or use. Even though we follow procedures which limit the access to our premises and trucks to authorized personnel only, the information outside the consignments can be seen by other people.
